Hello everyone, and welcome back to The Simple Facts of Life. Tonight I will be covering a topic that pisses me off the most: religious extremism. The fact of the matter is, religion is about peace, love, and understanding. I'm not just talking about one specific religion, but ALL religion. Take every minor difference away from each religion until you get down to the roots of it, and all of these religions are the same. The rules basically say:
1. Worship your god or gods
2. Do not kill
3. Do not steal
4. Honor your spouse, or spouses if the religion allows it
I don't get how one religion can despise another religion. I seriously don't. It's like the bullshit war between Catholics and Protestants. Would you like for me to tell you the difference between the two? You do? Ok then. The difference between Catholics and Protestants is that Catholics wanted to pray in Latin, and Protestants wanted to pray in English. Nowadays Catholic churches are praying in English, so why do they still hate each other over the language they wanted to pray in when they're both praying in the same language now? Seriously, this shit is fucking ridiculous.
Every religion has some insane nutcase or group who want to drive the world nuts. The one religion that shocked me in terms of extremism is Buddhism. I don't get it. Buddhism is the religion that shows the most peace, love, and understanding. It's considered a "hippie faith". If this is true, then why are they burning down churches and bombing synagogues in India? They're BUDDHIST for god's sake. They're supposed to be peaceful and loving.
On the internet, there are 3 main religions to mention: Christians, Muslims, and Atheists. These 3 are stuck-up and don't want to hear about the other side. Muslims are being called racist and vulgar names like "goat fucker" and "sand n***er". Yes I bleeped out the N word. Shut up. Now Atheists and Christians hate each other to no end, and hate anyone who doesn't listen to them or folow their faith. However, when you're saying things like "believe in God or burn in Hell", it's extremely hard to take them seriously. I choose not to hear the bullshit that they're spewing out that has nothing to with their faith because, like I said, it has absolutely NOTHING to do with their faith. I've received death threats because I wouldn't listen to their stupid made-up bullshit.
This brings me to something that former YouTuber Hellsing920 once said, "If you find a religion that's super duper and kick-ass, go for it!" I agree, but please, if you have a religion, please don't shove it down other people's throats. This brings me to another thing Hellsing920 said. He mentioned that he believed in former comedian George Carlin's version of the 10 Commandments. He narrowed it down to 3, and added a 4th, which says "Keep thine own religion to thine self". In other words, I don't want to hear about your religion. Just keep it to yourself. This I believe in on the grounds of people constantly cramming their faith down my throat, and I just want them to stop it. If you have a faith, that's cool. Don't tell me that I'm wrong for believing in something else.
If you're wondering what MY personal faith is, and I'm only sharing this for the purpose of this blog post, I consider myself a free spirit. I don't really have a faith. I just live my life freely and see where the journey takes me. I don't want to live life with strict rules saying "you can't do this" or "you can't eat this". And what are you going to do if I refuse? It's my life, and I'll choose how to live it, not how some God who I don't even know exists told me to live it.
Back to religious extremism, there are many groups like the KKK, the Neo Nazis, and ISIS who will take the messages from their text and mess with it to where it says you can kill because "God wants you to". They will quote lines before they kill or go after someone. Things like "And the Bible says, 'Thou shalt hang the donkey'" or some other stupid shit like that. The KKK and the Neo Nazis are killing those who aren't Christian, and ISIS is beheading and bombing those who aren't Muslim, or the fake bullshit Muslim faith that ISIS made for themselves, and not the real thing.
You know, to be honest, I've given this a lot of thought, and I can't take it anymore. The more I type, the more I just want to punch my monitor for discussing this bullshit. I hope you enjoyed this post, and I'll have another Fact of Life soon.
